Here is how to watch world cup XC ski racing and Biathlon this winter if you are interested.
World Cup Cross Country
All races this year are being broadcast by USSA on their skiandsnowboardlive platform. You can stream them live, or on replay. This costs money, and there are different payment structures. I think it’s $2 per race, or $16 per month to get everything, including alpine, freestyle, ski jumping, etc. I believe you can pay less for just a single sport as well.
All broadcasters around the world use a single video feed from the event, so the event organizer controls the pictures. Commentary is provided by the broadcaster, and USSA has a single American commentator for the XC events.
World Cup and IBU Cup Biathlon
No american broadcaster purchased the rights to broadcast these events, which probably isn’t so good for the sport here in the US, but it means you can watch all the races for free at this link.
These videos have British commentary. The IBU cup races are on here as well, which is one level down from World Cup. If you’ve never watched a Biathlon race in Central Europe, I highly recommend you check it out and see the 30,000 or so fans they get at the events in Germany, France, and the Czech Republic. World Champs are in Germany this year, so it will probably be nuts.
