This program is definitely happening again for the 2026-2027 season. The exact schedule is not yet finalized, but we are ready to go for another great season!
Program Description: This is a learn to ski program for 1st through 8th grade students. The focus will be on fun, while also teaching kids the skills to become better skiers. This is not a team that travels to compete against other teams. There are competitive opportunities available outside the normally scheduled practices, and we will offer some support of that for interested skiers, but competing is definitely not required to enroll in this program.
Initial Registration is risk free and a full information packet will be sent to you after registration.
Schedule: We are hoping to have practices on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3:30 pm, but we cannot guarantee that schedule yet because we don’t know the work schedule of our coaches yet. NOTE: Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from practice. Children under the age of ten must be accompanied by a parent during practice.
Start Date: Mid December 2026.
End Date: Early to mid-march
Location: location will fluctuate between Hard’ack and the Dickinson farm, which is located on the back side of St. Albans hill. Scheduling/locations will be posted on this page and also communicated through email.
Coaching: Brook Hodgeman and Tyler Magnan will be the head coaches of this program. They are both members of the board, and you can visit their profiles in the “About Us” section of this website.
Fees: $50 per participant. All participants will be required to become members of NENSA, the New England Nordic Ski Association. This is because they insure our programs and also to expose skiers to the wider world of nordic skiing. NENSA is a great organization and the central promoter of Nordic skiing in the region. The fee covers the NENSA membership and a little extra for our program expenses, but most of the program expenses are subsidized by fundraising. We can process the NENSA memberships for you. As a member, you will receive weekly email updates about Nensa programming and access to signature events like the New England Bill Koch festival.
Payment: We will follow up with you about payment after you sign up. You can use the sign up form below and pay later.
Equipment: If you need equipment, we offer affordable leasing options. Costs vary depending on age and needs, but range between $80 and $180 for the season.
What if the weather is bad? In cases of extreme cold, ice storms, etc, practices may be cancelled. We will try our best to make the call the night before and let you know, but sometimes the winter weather throws surprises at us. We will still conduct practices if there is no snow to ski on. There are plenty of fun “dryland” activities that build skiing skills.
